Current Employment and Academic Status of Recent Dental Graduates in Dhaka City

This descriptive type of cross-sectional study was conducted with an objective to find out the present employment and academic status recent dental graduates in Dhaka city. The for one year from July 2019 June 2020 at different work places residence unemployed A total 414 were respondents study. Study revealed that 212 (51.2%) male 202 (48.8%) female. With regards employment, it 340 (82.1%) employed as surgeon 57 (13.8%) yet get formal employment. Among graduates, 203 (57%) full-time employee 154 (47%) part-time. Only 55 (15.4%) surgeons among them working government sector rest non-government or self-employed. Self-employment a main source income 179 (43.2%) respondents. Regarding job satisfaction, 139 (33.6%) moderately satisfied 182 (44%) not their pay standard. further engagement, 88 (21.2%) enrolled postgraduation courses whereas 205 (49.5%) also engaged learning activities admitted into courses. recommended newly graduated could be utilized by engaging both urban rural areas creating scope nongovernment sectors. Further engagement may ensured initiating new dentistry increasing number affiliated institutes post-graduation.
